List of natural monuments in the Grieskirchen district

The list of natural monuments in the district of Grieskirchen lists the objects designated as natural monuments in the district of Grieskirchen in the federal state of Upper Austria . Of the 18 natural monuments, 17 protected objects are trees or groups of trees, one natural monument is a protected rocking stone . Among the natural monuments are mainly native species, including six summer linden ( Tilia platyphyllos ), five pedunculate oak ( Quercus robur ), three winter linden ( Tilia cordata ), two common horse chestnuts ( Aesculus hippocastanum ), a giant sequoia ( Sequoiadendron giganteum ) and one Common beech ( Fagus sylvatica ). With three natural monuments, the municipality of Gallspach has the highest number of natural monuments, Natternbach , St. Agatha and Tollet each have two natural monuments.

At the time it was placed under protection, the linden tree had a trunk circumference of 6.3 m (measured at a height of 1.5 m), a height of 25 m and a crown diameter of around 18 m. March 26, 1985

The two winter linden trees ( Tilia cordata ) are at the southern entrance to Hofkirchen an der Trattnach. At the time they were placed under protection, the two trees had a trunk circumference of 3.5 and 2.75 m (measured at a height of one meter), a common crown diameter of 15 m and a respective height of around 25 m. 12/18/1992

The summer lime tree ( Tilia platyphyllos ) is in the center of Natternbach next to the Gasthaus zur Linde. At the time it was placed under protection, it had a trunk circumference of 3.9 m (at a height of one meter) and a height of around 25 m. The northern one was removed from the original two main branches before it was placed under protection. 08/12/1983

The summer linden tree is located on a knoll north of Neumarkt in the Hausruckkreis next to your memorial stone for the local poet Anton Wurmb. At the time it was placed under protection, the linden tree had a trunk circumference of 3.8 m, a crown diameter of around 10 m and a height of around 15 m. The trunk of the linden tree is divided into seven main branches at a height of 1.9 m. 10/12/1983

The common beech ( Fagus sylvatica ) stands in a bend on the Bräuleithen goods route. At the time it was placed under protection, it had a trunk circumference of 3.05 m (at a height of one meter), a crown diameter of around 16 m and a height of around 24 m. 10/01/1991

The Fadinger Linden, a summer linden ( Tilia platyphyllos ) stands next to a chapel at the Fadingerhof in Parz . At the time it was placed under protection, it had a trunk circumference of 4.1 m at chest height, a crown diameter of around 15 m and a height of around 35 m. The linden tree was planted in 1626 and has two main branches.
Note: The plot number 1201/1 in the notification or nature conservation book no longer exists.

The common horse chestnut ( Aesculus hippocastanum ) was in the center of Gallspach below the parish church. At the time it was placed under protection, the chestnut had a trunk circumference of 3.4 m (measured at a height of 1 m), a height of around 18 m and a crown diameter of 12 m. It was planted in 1809 on the occasion of Emperor Napoleon's campaign, when Napoleon and his soldiers moved from Haag Castle to the battle of Ebelsberg. 03/04/1991
