List of natural monuments in Linz
The list of natural monuments in Linz lists the objects designated as natural monuments in the Upper Austrian capital of Linz . Of the 40 natural monuments, 39 protected objects are trees or groups of trees, a natural monument is a protected stream. The natural monuments include various domestic and exotic species, including 12 common oaks ( Quercus robur ) and five maple-leaved plane trees ( Platanus x hispanica ). Spatially, the natural monuments are spread across the cadastral community of Linz; there are also seven natural monuments in the cadastral community of Katzbach , four in Ebelsberg (all in Ebelsberg Castle Park), three each in Waldegg and Lustenau , and two in Pöstlingberg and Kleinmünchen .

Originally, an Amur cork tree ( Phellodendron amurense ), a tulip tree ( Liriodendron tulipifera ), a giant sequoia ( Sequoiadendron giganteum ) and a Japanese cake tree ( Cercidiphyllum japonicum ) were placed under protection in the park of the Johannes Kepler University in Linz-Auhof. At the time it was placed under protection, the poplar tree had a trunk circumference of 3.1 m (measured at a height of one meter), a crown diameter of 8 m and a height of around 20 m.
