List of natural monuments in the Braunau am Inn district

The list of natural monuments in the Braunau am Inn district lists the objects designated as natural monuments in the Braunau district in the state of Upper Austria . Of the 60 natural monuments, all of the protected objects are trees or groups of trees. The trees and groups of trees designated as natural monuments include various native and exotic species, but particularly winter linden ( Tilia cordata ), summer linden ( Tilia platyphyllos ) and common oak ( Quercus robur ).

		2 cemetery birches	nd507	Aspach KG:  Aspach GrStNr: 2288 location	The two hanging birch trees ( Betula pendula ) in the Aspach cemetery had a trunk circumference of 2.3 and 2.7 m (measured at a height of one meter), a common crown diameter of 17 m and a height of each at the time they were placed under protection around 23 m. 		2 chapel linden trees	nd431	Aspach KG:  Aspach GrStNr: 2264 location	The two winter linden trees ( Tilia cordata ) are at the northern end of Aspach next to a chapel. At the time they were placed under protection, they had a trunk circumference of 3.7 or 3.05 m, a common crown diameter of 25 m and a height of around 20 m each.		03/05/1991
		2 church linden trees and emperor linden trees in Aspach	nd430	Aspach KG:  Aspach GrStNr: 2816 location	The two winter linden trees ( Tilia cordata ) were planted in 1898 on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the emperor at the entrance to the parish church in Aspach. At the time they were placed under protection, they had a trunk circumference of 3.8 or 2.1 m, a common crown diameter of 17 m and a height of around 30 m each.		03/04/1991
		Stiblerlinde	nd052	Aspach KG:  Aspach GrStNr: 2315/2 location	The winter lime tree ( Tilia cordata ) was planted in 1923 in honor of the local poet Georg Stibler on a hill south of the parish church in Aspach. The surrounding bushes were also protected.		06/20/1986
		Kapellen-Linde	nd279	Auerbach KG:  Irnprechting GrStNr: 3/1 location	The winter lime tree ( Tilia cordata ), which divides into three main branches at a height of around 1.5 m, is located at the entrance to Unterirnprechting near a chapel. At the time it was placed under protection, Due Linde had a trunk circumference of 5 m (measured at a height of one meter), a crown diameter of 18 m and a height of 20 m.		10/22/1984
		Shrub birch (Betula humilis)	nd075	Auerbach KG:  Auerbach GrStNr: 939/1 location	The bush birch ( Betula humilis ) stands on the edge of a peat cut and is one of the few specimens in all of Upper Austria. It is located around 2 km west of the village of Auerbach on the left bank of the Enknach .		02/13/1974
		2 beeches	nd500	Braunau am Inn KG:  Ranshofen GrStNr: 295/10 location	The two hornbeams ( Carpinus betulus ) are in the garden of house Osternberg 11. At the time they were placed under protection, they had a trunk circumference of 2.85 and 3.15 m, a common crown diameter of 22 m and a height of around 26 m each.		01/08/1993
		Oak at the Prälatenbach	nd176	Braunau am Inn KG:  Ranshofen GrStNr: 1834/28 location	The pedunculate oak ( Quercus robur ) stands on the edge of the village of Scheuhub on the left bank of the Prälatenbach. At the time it was placed under protection, it had a trunk circumference of 3.85 m (at chest height), a crown diameter of around 23 m and a height of 19.5 m. Their age was then estimated to be 150 to 200 years.		December 21, 1981
		English oak	nd158	Braunau am Inn KG:  Ranshofen GrStNr: 1133/2 location	The pedunculate oak ( Quercus robur ) with straight growth and widely spreading, uniformly shaped crown stands in the open field near the Ranshofen power station on the approach to Ranshofen Ost. The trunk circumference is 5.20 m (as of 1989).		01/27/2012
		Ash (Fraxinus excelsior)	nd087	Braunau am Inn KG:  Ranshofen GrStNr: 267/1 location	The common ash ( Fraxinus excelsior ) is located on Osternbergstrasse by the former tavern of the Easterberg estate. At the time it was placed under protection, its age was estimated to be around 200 years, the trunk circumference is 5.60 m (as of 1989).		09/21/1976
		Ash in Ranshofen	nd643	Braunau am Inn KG:  Ranshofen GrStNr: 513/1 location	The common ash ( Fraxinus excelsior ) stands behind Wertheimer Platz on a meadow in front of the former Ranshofen monastery. At the time it was placed under protection, it had a trunk circumference of 5.25 m (measured at a height of one meter), a crown diameter of 27 m and a height of around 27 m. Their age was then estimated to be 150 to 200 years.		03/08/2005
		Schönauerlinde	nd356	Braunau am Inn KG:  Braunau am Inn GrStNr: 131/1 location	The winter lime tree ( Tilia cordata ) is located on the upper slope of an indoor terrace around 400 m northeast of the parish church of St. Stefan. At the time it was placed under protection, it had a trunk circumference of 3.9 m (measured at chest height), a crown diameter of 20 m and a height of 18 m. The age of the tree, which was covered with climbing ivy up to 2/3 of the tree height on the north side, was estimated to be around 200 years.		10/23/1986
		Harrer oak	nd365	Burgkirchen KG:  Forstern GrStNr: 457 location	The English oak ( Quercus robur ) is in the village of Unterhartberg. At the time it was placed under protection, it had a trunk circumference of 5.3 m (measured at chest height), a crown diameter of 25 m and a height of around 27 m. The oak divides into four main branches at a height of around 5 m.		11/28/1986
		Linden tree in Burgkirchen	nd364	Burgkirchen KG:  Forstern GrStNr: 593/1 location	The winter lime tree ( Tilia cordata ) stands completely free around 100 m west of the Brunning No. 5 building. At the time it was placed under protection, the natural monument had a trunk circumference of 4.2 m (measured at chest height), a crown diameter of 19 m and a height from around 25 m. The linden tree divides into two main branches at a height of around 2.5 m.		11/28/1986
		chestnut	nd535	Eggelsberg KG:  Haimhausen GrStNr: 660 location	The common horse chestnut ( Aesculus hippocastanum ) is next to the Gundertshausen property 4. Note: Incorrect notification linked in the nature conservation book.		05/16/1994
		Summer linden tree	nd310	Eggelsberg KG:  Gundertshausen GrStNr: 1346/1 location	The summer lime tree ( Tilia platyphyllos ) stands next to the building of the Schnaitl private brewery in Gundertshausen. At the time it was placed under protection, the linden tree had a trunk circumference of 3.8 m (measured at a height of one meter), a crown diameter of around 16 m and a height of around 30 m.		09/13/1985
		Gasthaus-Linde in Geretsberg	nd450	Geretsberg KG:  Geretsberg GrStNr: 850/1 location	The winter lime tree ( Tilia cordata ) stands next to the Gasthaus Pemwieser at the western end of Geretsberg. At the time it was placed under protection, the linden tree had a trunk circumference of 4.05 m (measured at a height of one meter), a crown diameter of 21 m and a height of around 28 m.		03/04/1991
		3 lime trees at Gasthaus Pommer (Stadlerwirt)	nd484	Handenberg KG:  Adenberg GrStNr: 1990 Location	The three linden trees that are not classified in any more detail are located on the grounds of the Gasthaus Pommer. At the time they were placed under protection, they had a trunk circumference of 3.2, 3.5 or 4.4 m (measured at a height of one meter), a common crown diameter of around 26 m and a height of over 25 m each. Their age was estimated to be around 200 years.		09/10/1992
		Gasthaus-Esche in Handenberg	nd485	Handenberg KG:  Sandthal GrStNr: 1190/1 location	The common ash ( Fraxinus excelsior ) on the Schirkwirt-Bezirksstrasse next to the Schmerold inn. At the time it was placed under protection, the ash tree had a trunk circumference of 4.8 m, a crown diameter of 23 m and a height of around 30 m.		09/10/1992
		Black locust	nd432	Haigermoos KG:  Haigermoos GrStNr: 1233 location	The common locust tree ( Robinia pseudoacacia ) is located around 250 m north of the Witzling 1 property in Franking. At the time it was placed under protection, the tree had a trunk circumference of 3.05 m (measured at a height of one meter), a crown diameter of 12 m and a height of around 24 m.		03/05/1991
		Pedunculate oak in Helpfau	nd266	Helpfau-Uttendorf KG:  Helpfau GrStNr: 1368 location	The pedunculate oak ( Quercus robur ) stands in a bend in the river on the left bank of the Mattig around 250 m northwest of the parish church.		04/18/1984
		2 plane trees	nd302	Hochburg-Ach KG:  Ach GrStNr: 75/5 location	The two American plane trees ( Platanus occidentalis ) are in front of the Ach-Wanghausen elementary school. At the time they were placed under protection, they had a trunk circumference of 3.5 or 3.1 m (at chest height), a common crown diameter of around 30 m and a height of around 33 m.		06/11/1985
		Oak	nd304	Hochburg-Ach KG:  Hochburg GrStNr: 267/1 location	The common oak ( Quercus robur ) had a trunk circumference of 4.5 m (at breast height), a crown diameter of around 25 m and a height of around 30 m at the time it was placed under protection.		08/09/1985
		House oak in Abern	nd439	Jeging KG:  Jeging GrStNr: 351/2 location	The common oak ( Quercus robur ) is located on the southwest side of the Abern 12 property. At the time it was placed under protection, it had a trunk circumference of 4.7 m (at a height of one meter), a crown diameter of 22 m and a height of around 24 m.		03/05/1991
		2 chapel linden trees in Teichstätt	nd107	Lengau KG:  Heiligenstadt GrStNr: 1876 Location	The listed village chapel of St. Laurentius in Teichstätt ( list of monuments ) is flanked by 2 large, approximately 200 year old winter linden trees.		10/10/1978
		Triple oak in Friedburg	nd105	Lengau KG:  Friedburg GrStNr: 529/1 location	On the federal road 147 from Straßwalchen to Friedburg there is an oak tree that divides into three trunks just above the ground.		10/10/1978
		Oak in wood	nd361	Lengau KG:  Friedburg GrStNr: 405 location	The oak in the wood, a pedunculate oak in the open ground, had a trunk circumference of 4.1 m at chest height and a height of about 23 m. From a height of about 2.5 m, the trunk divides into two main branches, one of which divides into two other thick branches.		December 01, 1986
		Corridor oaks in wood	nd106	Lengau KG:  Friedburg GrStNr: 355/2 location	The completely free-standing English oak on Güterweg Holz was placed under protection because of its landscape-forming character.		10/10/1978
		Pedunculate oak in Mittererb	nd661	Lengau KG:  Krenwald GrStNr: 38/1; 228, location	This pedunculate oak is around 250 years old and has always been a border tree. At the time it was placed under protection, it had a height of approx. 23 m and a trunk circumference of 4.35 m. The tree stands alone in a wide field and is visible from afar.		08/03/2010
		Gruber-Linde in Reitsham	nd344	Lochen am See KG:  Tannberg GrStNr: 3117/1 location	The summer lime tree on property no. 1904 in KG Tannberg towers over the entire village of Reitsham with a height of approx. 32 m. When it was placed under protection, it had a circumference of 3.7 m. Together with the linden tree on property no. 1971, it shapes the image of the small town.		03/20/1986
		Kapellen-Linde in Reitsham	nd343	Lochen am See KG:  Tannberg GrStNr: 3119 location	Winter linden (Tilia cordata) with a trunk circumference of 5 meters, in Reitsham, near the listed Schmiedhausl chapel , on the Richtstättenweg Lochen .		03/20/1986
		Row of linden trees by the church	nd592	Maria Schmolln KG:  Oberminathal GrStNr: 1258/4 location	Starting on the right side of the main entrance of the parish church of Maria Schmolln, there are eight summer and winter linden trees over a length of about 70 m . The linden trees with trunk circumferences between 2.2 m and 3.5 m have heights of up to approx. 25 m. They were placed under protection not least because of their shaping effect in connection with the pilgrimage church.		11/29/2001
		Redwoodtree	nd109	Mattighofen KG:  Mattighofen GrStNr: 135 Location	The giant sequoia with a trunk circumference of 5 meters (as of 1989) on the grounds of the Austrian Federal Forests in Schloss Mattighofen was declared a natural monument together with a Weymouth pine .		10/10/1978
		American black walnut at Mattighofen Castle	nd454	Mattighofen KG:  Mattighofen GrStNr: 135 Location	The American black walnut in the park on the grounds of the Austrian Federal Forests in Mattighofen is around 120 years old, has a circumference of 3.25 m and a height of around 28 m.		03/04/1991
		Priest peasant oak	nd442	Mauerkirchen KG:  Spitzenberg GrStNr: 124/2 location	Although the priest's peasant oak was struck by lightning before, it is in very good condition. The pedunculate oak has a circumference of 3.1 m and a height of approx. 18 m.		03/04/1991
		English oak ( Quercus robur )	nd094	Mining KG:  Gundholling GrStNr: 184 location	The pedunculate oak with a beautifully shaped crown on the road from Unter- to Obersunzing already had a circumference of 5.3 m at chest height in 1977. It should be a remnant of a natural deciduous forest of the terraced landscape along the Inn .		06/08/1977
		English oak ( Quercus robur )	nd095	Mining KG:  Mining GrStNr: 684/5 location	The pedunculate oak, which is believed to be 350 years old at the Frauenstein sports field, had a circumference of 5.2 m in 1977, a straight trunk and a well-developed crown.		06/07/1977
		Linden tree on the Pfarrerberg	nd362	Moosbach KG:  Waasen GrStNr: 289/3 location	At the time it was placed under protection, this winter linden tree had a circumference of 3.8 m and a height of approx. 20 m. At that time she was standing alone on the Pfarrerberg. In the meantime, the newly built single-family houses in Moosbach have come very close to her.		11/28/1986
		Linden tree in the village of Achenlohe	nd645	Munderfing KG:  Achenlohe GrStNr: 230/2 location	The unspecified linden tree at the entrance to Achenlohe had a trunk circumference of 3.8 m in 2005 and an estimated height of 23 m. The tree is thought to be around 150 years old.		03/18/2005
		Oak	nd261	Neukirchen an der Enknach KG:  Mitternberg GrStNr: 367 location	In 1984 the pedunculate oak had a circumference of 4.15 m and a height of about 21 m. The straight trunk branches only at a height of approx. 5.5 m and has an even, round crown.		04/18/1984
		Chapel linden tree in Passberg	nd265	Neukirchen an der Enknach KG:  Mitternberg GrStNr: 998 location	This winter lime tree was planted next to the Seisingerkapelle in 1910 and is therefore still relatively young. In 1984 it had a circumference of 3.05 m and a height of approx. 15 m. It has a richly branched, spherical crown and, together with the chapel built in 1905, forms a landscape-defining unit.		04/18/1984
		Walnut in Eisenhub	nd644	Neukirchen an der Enknach KG:  Mitternberg GrStNr: 726 location	The specimen of a real walnut, which is about 23 m high, stands as a house tree on the property of the owners. In addition to the impressive height, the tree also has a trunk circumference of approx. 4 m.		03/18/2005

		English oak	nd108	Pfaffstätt KG:  Pfaffstätt GrStNr: 403/1 location	Next to the sports field in the village of Pfaffstätt is a pedunculate oak that has been placed under protection because of its size and age.		10/10/1978
		Lindenallee in Frauschereck	nd066	St. Johann am Walde KG:  St. Johann GrStNr: 2145/4; 2130/4 location	A number of winter linden trees in the village of Frauschereck were placed under protection in 1974.		03/25/1974
		fir	nd226	St. Johann am Walde KG:  St. Johann GrStNr: 2200/1 location	The unusually high silver fir stands on a forest road in the Kobernaußerwald . In 1983 it had a height of about 40 m and a circumference of 4.4 m. The crown was about 16 m in diameter. There used to be several fir trees of above-average size in this area, the protected one is likely to be the last giant fir.		11/23/1983
		Millennial linden tree	nd096	St. Johann am Walde KG:  St. Johann GrStNr: 2848 location	The summer lime tree is in the middle of the forest, but the way to it is marked and signposted. It is about 500 years old, about 7.1 meters in circumference and has been hollow for a long time. From a height of about 2 m it divides into several strong branches that together form a large crown.		04/25/1977
		Twin beech	nd110	St. Johann am Walde KG:  St. Johann GrStNr: 2842 location	This red beech with 2 trunks stands just 50 meters east of the 1000-year-old linden tree . It is about 30 m high and has a trunk circumference of 3.1 m.		10/10/1978
		200 year old oak	nd179	St. Peter am Hart KG:  St. Peter GrStNr: 425 location	The pedunculate oak was protected in 1982 at the request of its owners. At a height of about 21 m, it had a circumference of almost 4 m at the time. The crown was about 15 m high and had a diameter of about 20 m.		03/10/1982
		English oak ( Quercus robur )	nd088	St. Peter am Hart KG:  Hagenau GrStNr: 637/1 location	In a field not far from the banks of the Inn , stands an extraordinarily large pedunculate oak , at least 300 years old, with a trunk circumference of 6.50 m. It was placed under protection at the request of its owner.		09/22/1976
		Oak group in Hagenau (3 oaks)	nd463	St. Peter am Hart KG:  Hagenau GrStNr: 1546 location	Of the original five pedunculate oaks that were along the road from Hagenau Castle , only three have survived.		08/01/1991
		larch	nd346	St. Radegund KG:  Hadermarkt GrStNr: 829; 834 location	The unusually thick European larch has a trunk circumference of 3.3 m. With a stately height of 22 m, it is visible from afar.		04/03/1986
		Winter linden	nd447	St. Veit im Innkreis KG:  St. Veit im Innkreis GrStNr: 499 location	The trunk of the approx. 220 year old winter linden tree divides into three thick branches at a height of approx. 3 m. The lower trunk had a circumference of 3.6 m in 1991. The tree had a total height of about 28 m.		03/04/1991
		2 chapel linden trees	nd359	Tarsdorf KG:  Hörndl GrStNr: 1255 Location	The two winter linden trees stand next to each other by the Hintermaier chapel, have a common crown and are about 24 m high. Their trunks measure 3.6 m and 2.2 m in circumference. With their spherical crown they mark the southern entrance to Tarsdorf.		09/29/1986
		2 chapel linden trees	nd360	Tarsdorf KG:  Hofstatt GrStNr: 2035 location	Shortly before the western entrance to Fucking there are two summer linden trees by the Peterkapelle . With a circumference of 3.7 m and 3.8 m (1986), they are approximately the same thickness and form a common crown. With a height of about 26 m, they are a defining landscape element.		11/27/1986
		Oak	nd358	Tarsdorf KG:  Eichbichl GrStNr: 1965/1 location	The pedunculate oak , which is about 28 m tall , had a slender trunk 3.1 m in circumference in the year it was placed under protection.		04/16/1987
		Grenadier linden tree	nd116	Überackern KG:  Überackern GrStNr: 192 location	The summer lime tree is at least 500 years old. It stands on a dirt road on the banks of the Salzach and stands out clearly from its surroundings due to its regular growth and size.		11/30/1978
		"Host oak" or "Oak on the Leit'n"	nd086	Weng im Innkreis KG:  Weng GrStNr: 673 location	The age of the pedunculate oak is estimated to be around 200 years. It stands on a slope between the villages of Hauserding and Harterding.		09/06/1985

		Ash trees	gnd003	Braunau am Inn coordinates are missing! Help.	The three ash trees were in the Schleifmühlgraben in Braunau.
		Chapel linden in Teichstätt	gnd049	Lengau coordinates are missing! Help.	The Tilia cordata ( Tilia cordata ) were dissolved in the natural monument no. 107 integrated.
		Linden tree	gnd050	Hochburg-Ach coordinates are missing! Help.	The linden tree, known as the “ grenadier cap ” because of its shape, was around 300 years old.
		Linden tree in Leithen	gnd357	Coordinates are missing! Help.	The small-leaved lime had at the time the sub-protective position m a height of around 28 m and a circumference of 5 m a crown diameter of the 23rd Protection was lifted due to storm damage.
		Linden trees	gnd051	Helpfau-Uttendorf coordinates are missing! Help.	The Schlossberglinden were in front of the Schlossbergkirche Uttendorf.
		Walnut in Mauerkirchen	gnd363	Wall church coordinates are missing! Help.	The walnut was in the center of Mauerkirchen on the forecourt of the elementary and secondary school. With a trunk circumference of 4.1 m at a height of 1 m, it was a rarity.
		European beech	gnd078	Munderfing coordinates are missing! Help.	The red beech , known as “Taferlbuche”, was a particular rarity with a height of around 35 m, a trunk circumference of 5.7 m, a crown diameter of 20 m and an estimated age of 160 years.
		English oak	gnd085	Punch at the lake Coordinates are missing! Help.	The pedunculate oak standing in the open had a trunk circumference of 4.1 m, a crown diameter of 25 m and an age of around 300 years at the time it was placed under protection.
