Dean's office Perg
The parish of Naarn, which originally belonged to the Diocese of Passau and is one of four original parishes of the Mühlviertel mentioned in 823 documents, belongs to the dean's office Perg . At the Synod of Mistelbach in Mistelbach near Wels in 980, Naarn was named as the only Passau baptismal district north of the Danube and is considered to be the direct or indirect mother parish for 20 parishes in the area between Aist and Naarn .
The deanery comprises 12 parishes, all of which are located in the Perg district, but whose boundaries do not always coincide with the political communities: Allerheiligen, Arbing, Baumgartenberg, Mauthausen, Mitterkirchen, Münzbach, Naarn, Perg, Pergkirchen, Rechberg, Schwertberg, Windhaag bei Perg .
Because of the prevailing shortage of priests, pastoral care rooms were set up in the Diocese of Linz, these are areas of responsibility assigned to a priest. There are pastoral care rooms in the Deanery Perg
- Pastoral care room Perg: Parishes of Allerheiligen, Münzbach, Perg, Pergkirchen, Rechberg and Windhaag
- Pastoral care room Mauthausen: Parishes Mauthausen and Schwertberg
- Pastoral care area Machland: Parishes Arbing, Baumgartenberg, Mitterkirchen and Naarn
history
Efforts to set up an independent dean's office began with the establishment of the Perg district administration in 1868; But they failed in 1878, and then in 1925, because of the objections of Grein and Pabneukirchen .
The Perg dean's office was installed with effect from January 1, 1974.
The parishes were assigned from the Grein deanery:
The parish was assigned from the Pabneukirchen deanery:
The parishes were assigned from the Wartberg deanery:
The only branch in the dean's office is in the monastery of the Sisters of the Good Shepherd Baumgartenberg .
The Sisters of Mercy of the Holy Cross (Cross Sisters ) were represented with a base in Perg from the beginning of 1891 to September 2014 and had set up a chapel in the kindergarten building belonging to the city of Perg in Friedhofstrasse. The last remaining nun in Perg was in charge of the kindergarten of the Perg Kindergarten Association in Friedhofstrasse until mid-2010. After they left Perg on September 28, 2014, the base was abandoned after almost 124 years and the chapel was profaned. An important educational institution is the European Gymnasium vom Guten Hirten Baumgartenberg, which is housed in the rooms of the monastery and is run by a private association.
The Catholic youth group of the deanery is active in the church youth network Strudengau (JUST) together with the youth group of the deanery Grein.
