List of stumbling blocks in Havelberg

The list of stumbling blocks in Havelberg contains all the stumbling blocks that were laid by Gunter Demnig in Havelberg as part of the art project of the same name . They are intended to commemorate the victims of National Socialism who lived and worked in Havelberg. In the only laying campaign to date, four stones were laid at three addresses on October 23, 2014.

Hermann Stein was born in Havelberg. On July 19, 1942, he was deported to the Theresienstadt ghetto , where he was murdered on January 20, 1943.

Anton Schrader came from Berlin and worked in Havelberg as a fitter. There he was beaten up and shot by SA members in the “Deutsches Haus” inn in September 1933 and then abandoned in the forest. On September 8th, he died in hospital from his injuries.

Gustav Stein was born in Havelberg and later lived in Berlin. He was arrested on November 22, 1938 and interned in Sachsenhausen concentration camp . He was initially released on December 14, but interned again in Sachsenhausen in 1939. On August 7, 1941, he was deported to Ravensbrück concentration camp . From there he was taken to the Bernburg killing center on March 25, 1942 , where he was murdered on the same day.

Bertha Stein born Kronbach (1876–1943)
Bertha Stein came from Marienau near Marienwerder and later lived in Havelberg and Berlin. From there she was deported to the Theresienstadt ghetto on October 3, 1942, where she was murdered on March 6, 1943.
