Stolperstein in Wittenberg

The list of stumbling blocks in Lutherstadt Wittenberg contains all the stumbling blocks that were laid by Gunter Demnig in Lutherstadt Wittenberg as part of the art project of the same name . They are intended to commemorate the victims of National Socialism who lived and worked in Wittenberg. Between 2008 and 2016, a total of 33 stones were laid at 16 addresses.

Käthe Bosse born Levin (1886–1944) was born in Wittenberg. She was deported to the Ravensbrück concentration camp on November 1, 1944 , and murdered there on December 16, 1944. She was married to gynecologist Paul Bosse and had four children with him, including Egyptologist and writer Kate Bosse-Griffiths .

Isidor Preminger (1885–1941) opened a shop in Wittenberg in 1929, but had to file for bankruptcy in 1932. After the National Socialists came to power, he was expelled to Poland in 1933. There he first settled in Katowice and after the German invasion he moved on to Eastern Galicia . There he was shot dead by Stanislau on October 12, 1941 on Bloody Sunday .
