List of stumbling blocks in Köthen (Anhalt)

The list of stumbling stones in Köthen (Anhalt) contains all stumbling stones that were laid by Gunter Demnig in Köthen (Anhalt) as part of the art project of the same name . They are intended to commemorate the victims of National Socialism who lived and worked in Köthen. Between 2010 and 2019, a total of 39 stones were laid at 13 addresses.

Emma Wolff came from Koethen. Together with her sister Martha, she was deported from Magdeburg to the Theresienstadt ghetto on December 2, 1942 , where she was murdered on January 22, 1943.

Doris Meyer b. Michels came from Ermsleben. In Köthen, she and her husband Max ran the textile goods store founded by their father. In 1938 the couple had to give up the business and the shared apartment. On April 14, 1942, they were deported to the Warsaw ghetto . Her further fate is unknown. They were declared dead in 1952 with effect from May 8, 1945.

Max Meyer (1888–?)

Max Meyer came from Haltern, lived temporarily in Essen and ran a textile goods store in Köthen together with his wife. In 1938 the couple had to give up the business and the shared apartment. On April 14, 1942, they were deported to the Warsaw ghetto. Her further fate is unknown. They were declared dead in 1952 with effect from May 8, 1945.

Rosa Fleischmann was born on August 1st, 1887 in Aschaffenburg . A testimonial at Yad Vashem names her as a married Dzialoszynski-Fleischmann. She was active in the Jewish women's association in Koethen. On April 14, 1942, she and her husband and daughter were deported from Magdeburg to the Warsaw Ghetto. According to the testimonial at Yad Vashem, she is considered a Holocaust victim.

The composer Alfred Tokayer was born in Köthen. He and his parents fled to France before the outbreak of war. In March 1943 they were arrested and deported via Drancy to the Sobibor extermination camp, where they were murdered.

Johanne Mendershausen came from Barmen-Elberfeld . She later lived in Koethen and Berlin. On December 2, 1942, she was deported to the Theresienstadt ghetto and from there to the Auschwitz-Birkenau concentration camp on May 16, 1944 , where she was murdered.

He first came to Berlin-Moabit and later between July and December 1942 in the Brandenburg-Görden prison . Recha Abosch born Luck (1890–?)

Wife of Adolf Abosch, daughter of the Viktualienhänders Simon Glück and partner of "Abosch & Co., limited partnership". Recha and Adolf had the children Herbert and Susi. After 1933 the family no longer appeared in address books. In 1942 Recha was deported. Her further fate and that of her children is not known.

Isidor Schönfeld came from Rosenfelde / Deutsch Krone and ran the Moser department store in Köthen. In 1939 he had to give up both the business and his house and then moved to Berlin. On September 24, 1942, he was deported to the Theresienstadt ghetto , where he died less than a month later on October 23.
