September 27, 2016 Otto Herrmann (1880–1944)

Otto Herrmann came from Landsberg and opened a clothing store in Wolmirstedt, where he later lived, as well as a wool shop and an apron factory in Magdeburg . He married Regina geb. Manneberg. In 1922 their daughter Inge-Ruth was born. From 1933, the family was increasingly exposed to reprisals. In 1935 Otto Hermann had to forcibly sell his business and move to Magdeburg with his family. In 1936, without compensation, he lost his share in the apron factory operated in partnership. After the November pogroms in 1938 he was interned in Buchenwald concentration camp for some time and later had to do forced labor. His daughter was previously able to leave Germany on a Kindertransport to England . In 1940 Otto and Regina Herrmann moved first to Potsdam-Babelsberg and later to relatives in Berlin . On October 28, 1942, both were deported to the Theresienstadt ghetto . On October 16, 1944, Otto Herrmann was deported to the Auschwitz extermination camp and murdered there.

A stumbling block was also laid for Otto Herrmann in Magdeburg.
