List of stumbling blocks in Blankenburg (Harz)

The list of stumbling blocks in Blankenburg (Harz) contains all stumbling blocks that were laid by Gunter Demnig in Blankenburg (Harz) as part of the art project of the same name . They are intended to commemorate the victims of National Socialism who lived and worked in Blankenburg. When it was relocated on December 8, 2019, a total of twelve stumbling blocks were relocated to seven addresses.

was born on April 10, 1875 in Saarbrücken . On January 11, 1944, she was deported from Hanover on Transport VIII / 3, No. 19 to the Theresienstadt ghetto , where she died on August 3, 1944. She was the widow of the doctor Hans Hermann Ewh, with whom she had had the daughter Ännie since 1897.

was born on October 23, 1868 in Hausberge . On July 23, 1942, he was deported to the Theresienstadt ghetto on Transport No. VIII / 1-222, where he died on January 16, 1943.

Thea Westfeld (1899–1944)
was born on January 7, 1899 in Halberstadt . On December 15, 1941, she was deported from Hanover to the Riga ghetto and from there on August 9, 1944, to the Stutthof concentration camp, where she died on November 25, 1944.

Was born on May 13, 1901 in Halberstadt and later married Ladewig. She died on January 30, 1945 in Braunschweig and was buried in the main cemetery.

was born in Halberstadt in 1872. She worked as a dentist in Bonn, moved to Bad Sachsa in 1918, where she stayed until 1928, and then opened a health food store and a vegetarian restaurant in Blankenburg. In 1938 she fled to the USA via France, where she died in 1947.
