  • Schanz - The street name "Schanz" goes back to the former "city wall" of Assamstadt. Sometimes the term "Schanz" or Schanze goes back to the Celtic times, when there were so-called triangular hills, which were once fortified Celtic farmers' properties. The name also appears in the period of the Thirty Years' War as well as in more recent times. While many cities used to be protected by a city wall, there was only a fence around Assamstadt, which was called the Schanz. The street only reminds of a small section of the former Schanz, which has otherwise been replaced by other street names: Kindergartenweg, Kirchgasse, Schmiedegasse and Zum Petersbrunnen are, for example, parts of the former Schanz.
  • Schillerstraße - named after Friedrich Schiller
  • Schindstrasse
  • Schloßgässle - The street name goes back to the high Middle Ages. A former "manor house", which is mentioned in old documents, is said to have once stood there and served as the seat of the local lower village nobility. It was probably not a magnificent castle. In the 14th century Assamstadt came into the possession of the Lords of Deufel / Teufel as a fief of Kurmainz . With the death of Eva von Teufel, who had remained childless, the line of this master family also died out in 1451. In 1808 a vaulted grave with a sword and some smaller weapons was found during grave work on the foundation of a house in Schloßgässle.
  • Schmiedegasse - As Assamstadt was a long time ago a community with over 1000 inhabitants, most of whom worked in agriculture, blacksmiths in the community had a lot of work. One of the blacksmiths with the surname Schmidt had his workshop in today's Schmiedegasse. People called him "Schmidt-Schmidt" (for Schmied Schmidt).
