This list includes all of the top scorer in the K League 1 since it was founded in the 1983 season . In the further part the most successful players and most successful clubs are named. The top scorer is the player who scores the most goals in a season. The current top scorer is Australian Adam Taggart from Suwon Samsung Bluewings .

In the past 37 seasons, a total of 33 different players have been the top scorer in K League 1. They scored an average of 16.64 goals. The most successful goalscorer in one season is Dejan Damjanović , who scored 31 goals in the 2012 season . Damjanović was the only player to be the top scorer three times in a row. The oldest top scorer was Edmilson in 2002 at 34, while Lee Kee-keun was the youngest in 1988 at 20. The top scorer of the K League 1 came nine times from the championship team and six times in the same season he was named "best player" in the league .

The mode, the number of participating teams and the number of season games have changed several times over time. In the first season, the K League 1 consisted of five clubs that played a total of 16 season games. Since 2014, twelve teams have been playing on 38 match days each.
