Glaserwiese
location
KG: Greisdorf
These are the remains of a glassworks that was closed in 1640 and is assumed to have been in operation for five years. Two crucibles, furnace vents, ash fall, mixing bunk and cooling furnace are preserved, and the position of the original larch wood floor can also be seen. One of the crucibles is approximately 35 x 35 cm. The plant is described as the best preserved glass furnace in Central Europe. The excavated finds comprise several cubic meters of glass remains, some of which point to the collaboration of Italian glass workers, but also tools for glass production. The finds lead to the conclusion that the smelter was suddenly stopped, the discovery of several bullets also indicates this. Since the seal ( seal ) of the metalworker was found, a violent conflict within the circle of glassmakers is suspected. The finds were published in the 2011 volume of the find reports from Austria (with a drawing of the remains of the glass furnace). The site is protected by a building made of wood, which as the "Museum Waldglashütte" forms a branch of the Deutschlandsberg Castle Museum. On November 26, 2015, the Austrian Monument Protection Medal was awarded at an event at the Federal Monuments Office.

Note: The site is located on a forest property on Reinischkogel , which belongs to EZ 132 KG 61214 Greisdorf (property vlg. Klugbauer). It can only be reached on foot in around fifteen minutes from the Klugbauer.

KG: Lemsitz
The complex was one of the first fortifications in the area. It was essentially Romanesque and is interpreted as a tower hill surrounded by moats, walls and ditches. Its center consisted of an irregular pentagonal tower about nine by seven meters, which was surrounded by a wall and a moat. At least its foundations were bricked. The Lemsitzer were servants of the Lords of Wildon and fiefs of the Archbishop of Salzburg . The complex is no longer mentioned in the 17th century. There are only sparse, difficult to recognize remains. The place is overgrown with forest and bushes, some non-public roads (only for off-road vehicles) lead through it. Rising masonry no longer exists, only uneven ground and leveling, which are difficult to see without an expert guide. In the year 1190 a Richter de Lemsnice and a Niklas are mentioned in the Seckau monastery books of the dead , in the church of St. Stefan ob Stainz there is a tombstone of Hans Lemsitzer from 1436.

Note: The site is located in the west of the village of St. Stefan on a property owned by EZ 46 KG 61222 Lemsitz.

St. Stefan ob Stainz 12 KG

: St. Stefan
A church at this location is mentioned in 1203, a restoration of the rectory and church, to which today's appearance can be traced back, took place in 1625. Relics of around 30 saints are deposited in the base of the cross on the tower (the tower ball). The nave of the church building is essentially Romanesque, its vault from around 1500. The nave forms a four-bay, three-aisled hall with star and ribbed vaults. The choir is dated to the 14th century. In the choir there is a Gothic baptismal font, a niche with Renaissance architecture and walled-in, barred window frames. The interior of the church is neo-Gothic from the years 1870–1880, some pieces are older (like the Mariengruppe around 1760/70). Hans Lemsitzer's tombstone dates from 1436, a bell from 1648. St. Stefan was the main parish of the area and Lemsitz Castle. It was incorporated into Stainz Abbey in 1245 and became independent again after its abolition in 1748. The last restoration took place (inside) in 1973 and (outside) in 1978.

Note: The church building is located on a property owned by EZ 110 KG 61237 St. Stefan.
