List of photo companies in Dresden
The first manufacturers of photographic apparatus in Germany were Friedrich Wilhelm Enzmann (1802–1866) and his brother Carl Heinrich Enzmann, whose advertisement in the Dresden city gazette of October 31, 1839 is considered the birth of the Dresden photo industry. Since the establishment of the Dresdner Photographische Apparate-Fabrik Ernemann & Matthias by Heinrich Ernemann in 1889, the manufacture of photo cameras in Dresden has a long tradition. In 1898 there were already three large camera factories in Dresden:
- Factory of photographic equipment, formerly Richard Hüttig & Sohn
- Company for camera manufacturing Heinrich Ernemann
- Joint stock company for the photographic industry Emil Wünsche
