List of parks in New York City
This list includes the parks in the city of New York .
In New York City there are three agencies that are responsible for the management and maintenance of the parks. These authorities are:
- US National Park Service (NPS) - Responsible for the administration of US national parks and other nature reserves and memorials (Federal)
- New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation (NYSP) - Responsible for the administration of New York State Parks (State)
- New York City Department of Parks and Recreation (DPR) - Responsible for the parks of the City of New York (Municipal)
There are also some parks in the city that are privately managed. The most famous are Bryant Park and Gramercy Park in Manhattan. Access to these private parks may be restricted.
