The district of Llipa is located in the province of Ocros in the Ancash region in western Peru . The district was established on November 15, 1957. It has an area of ​​31.5 km². The 2017 census counted 301 residents. In 1993 the population was 171, in 2007 843. The district administration is located in the 2770  m high village of Llipa with 275 inhabitants (as of 2017). Llipa is located almost 23 km east of the provincial capital Ocros .

Geographical location

The district of Llipa is located in the Peruvian Western Cordillera in the far east of the province of Ocros. The Río Pativilca , which flows south, forms the eastern boundary of the district.

The district of Llipa borders in the southwest with the district San Cristóbal de Raján , in the northwest with the district Ocros , in the northeast with the district Cajamarquilla and in the southeast with the district Mangas ( province Bolognesi ).
