One of the first functions of the new bishop was the consecration of the All Saints Chapel in the old Salzburg Cathedral in 1334.

On April 2, 1335, Duke Heinrich of Carinthia died in Tyrol Castle . According to the inheritance contract, the Habsburg rulers of Carinthia were from now on. On July 2nd, the new Duke Otto the Merry accepted homage from the Carinthian estates on the Zollfeld . Bishop Lorenz held the festive service in Maria Saal .

On a diplomatic mission, Bishop Lorenz traveled to the papal court in Avignon in 1337 and was taken by surprise there. He must have foreseen that it would end soon, as he had already drawn up his will on the outward journey in Brugg, Switzerland . Bishop Lorenz was buried in Avignon, his tomb has not been preserved.
