Ludwig Zimmermann (* 9. June 1938 in Baustetten today Laupheim ) is a German politician of the CDU , former teacher , local historian and author . He was a member of the district council in the Ravensburg district from 1970 to 2002, parish council in Wolpertswende from 1970 to 1985 and parish council of the parish of Mary's Birth in Mochenwangen from 1968 to 1993.

Life and work

Ludwig Zimmermann was born in Baustetten, which was incorporated into the city of Laupheim in 1973. From 1952 to 1958 he attended the teacher’s high school, which later became a secondary school with a home in Saulgau . He then took up a teaching degree at the Pedagogical Institute in Weingarten ( Württemberg ) until 1960 . After passing the service examinations until 1964 and working as a primary school teacher, he successfully passed the specialist group examination to become a secondary school teacher in 1966. He then taught at the secondary school in Weingarten until his retirement in 2001. Ludwig Zimmermann has been married since 1964 and has 3 children. He lives in the Mochenwangen suburb of the Wolpertswende community.

Politician, homeland researcher and author

Zimmermann has been a member of the CDU since 1961. In 1973 he was the founding chairman of the CDU community association Wolpertswende-Mochenwangen. As a volunteer local politician , he was involved in youth and club support as well as cultural work. He had been a member of the sports club Mochenwangen and the sports community of Baienfurt since 1964 and was the initiator and coordinator of the shooting cup tournaments from 1977 to 2011 and the indoor tournaments for the Oberschwaben Cup from 1988 to 2012. In 1998 and 2004 he was in Weingarten for the Triennial of Contemporary Art in Oberschwaben responsible. From 1992 to 2012 he campaigned for the renovation of the listed old church in Mochenwangen, including the coordination of the cultural program.

Since 1956 he has been writing articles on a part-time basis for the Schwäbische Zeitung in Laupheim and from 1964 in Ravensburg . His contributions included events in the fields of sport , politics and culture . In addition, there were reports from panel discussions and contributions to research on local history and portraits .

Zimmermann dealt with historical research in the area of local history and monument preservation for decades . He has published numerous articles on this since 1977.

In 2018 and 2019 he published his memoirs in 2 volumes .
