The Russian airborne troops or VDW (Vosduzduzhno-dessantnyje woiska; Russian : Воздушно-десантные войска = ВДВ, English VDV) are a special branch of arms (Russian: Отдельный род вando der) the armed forces of the Russian armed forces directly under the rod wootdeln is.

The artillery - regiments are air transportable and in terms of combat support troops with antitank - Antiaircraft - mortars - and pioneering components divided mixed. At the 242nd and 301st officers' school, new teaching departments were set up, each with two companies for mine and combat divers, as well as one teaching department each for military medical and psychological personnel.

In Ulyanovsk there is the Ulyanovsk Garden Suvorov Military School, where boys from the 5th to 11th grade study. This school is the only one in Russia that is run by the airborne troops.
