Łukasz Wójt (born May 13, 1982 in Gdansk ) is a German - Polish freestyle swimmer , medley swimmer and Olympian (2008) who is now active as a triathlete . He is the grandson of the record swimmer Marek Petrusewicz .

Career

Łukasz Wójt has Polish citizenship and is starting internationally for Poland. At the European Championships in Budapest in 2006 , he reached the finals over 200 m individual medley and came in seventh there. He achieved this placement again two years later in Eindhoven . Wójt finished fifth in the 4 × 200 m freestyle relay in Poland. At the European Short Course Championships in Rijeka in 2008 he won the bronze medal over 400 m individual medley. With the relay he reached eighth place in the 2008 World Short Course Championships in Manchester , over 400 m individual medley he was sixth. He competed in over 200 m individual medley and with the 4 × 200 m freestyle relay at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing . In both competitions he was eliminated in the preliminary stages.

At German championships Wójt won the titles over 400 m medley in 2005 , 2006 and 2007 . In 2007 he also won the 200 m freestyle title. The swimmer lived in Frankfurt am Main and started for SG Frankfurt , previously for EOSC Offenbach .

Łukasz Wójt took part in the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing without reaching a final. An attempted nomination for the 2012 Olympic Games and the 2016 Olympic Games did not succeed.

Łukasz Wójt lives in Würzburg and has been a triathlete for Germany since 2016.

Time and again he distinguishes himself as one of the fastest swimmers on the long distance.
At Ironman Austria (3.86 km swimming, 180.2 km cycling and 42.195 km running) the then 36-year-old was the fastest swimmer (44:31 min) in July 2018 after 8:28:03 h with a personal long-distance best time the sixth rank.

Łukasz Wójt is included in the best list of German triathletes on the Ironman distance .
