Luther Church (Düren)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Luther Church was a Protestant church in Düren , North Rhine-Westphalia .

The church stood in the old town of Düren near the Anna church . The entrance portal was on Steinweg . It first served the small Lutheran congregation in Düren, later the United Protestants as a place of worship.

The church was built between 1774 and 1779 by Heinrich Euler from Jülich . She was north-south and not faces east , which is probably due to the labyrinthine old town.

In the air raid on November 16, 1944 , the church and the neighboring Gothic Anna Church were completely destroyed and not rebuilt.
