The chapel

The chapel Berzbuir is a church building in Düren district Berzbuir in Düren , North Rhine-Westphalia .

The 4.00 × 3.60 m chapel was consecrated on May 17, 1649, shortly after the Thirty Years' War . There is a small tower on the gable roof . A small bell has been hanging in it since 1773. The chapel is built from rubble stones .

In 1908 the building was renovated, whereby the roof was covered with tiles instead of slate and the quarry stone masonry was given an external plaster. After the Second World War , the "renovation sins" of 1908 were eliminated during the reconstruction and the original condition was restored.

The chapel consists of a single room. In this there is an altar table made of red sandstone and a wooden sculpture of St. Anna Selbdritt . It dates from around 1470.

In the door stone it is written in Latin that the chapel was consecrated in honor of the Most Holy Trinity and the Virgin Mary. Masses were still held in the church building until the middle of the 19th century.

The chapel is listed under No. 3/13 in the list of monuments of the city of Düren.
