The MZKT-8007 ( Russian МЗКТ-8007 ) is a heavy truck from the Belarusian manufacturer Minski Zavod Koljosnych Tjagachei (Russian Минский завод колёсных тягачей, MZKT for short, or МЗКkerТ in German ) wheel tractor . The three-axle chassis with all-wheel drive has been in production since 1996 and is designed for a total weight of 36 tons. In the course of time, different versions of the vehicle were created, and a four-axle variant was also produced.

Vehicle history

The Minski Sawod Koljosnych Tjagachei started manufacturing the MZKT-8007 five years after the collapse of the Soviet Union in 1996. In the first models, engines of the JaMZ-238 type were used. The following versions of the truck followed, among others, over the next few years:

  • MZKT-8007-010 - Chassis for the assembly of excavator bodies with shovel volumes of up to one cubic meter. Three-axle vehicle with all-wheel drive (6 × 6), short overall length of nine meters.
  • MZKT-80071 - four-axle vehicle with all-wheel drive (8 × 8), built from 1997, today no longer in the official offer.
  • MZKT-800770 - Currently (2018) produced variant with all-wheel drive and three axles. Mobile drilling rigs and other equipment for the oil and gas industry are mounted on the vehicle.

A V8 four-stroke diesel engine of the type JaMZ-7511.10, which is manufactured in the Jaroslawski Motorny Sawod and technically largely corresponds to the older JaMZ-238, serves as the drive for the current models . With a displacement of 14.86 liters, it generates 400 hp (294 kW) and develops a maximum torque of 2110 Nm. It meets the Euro 2 emissions standard and is designed for a service life of 800,000 km. The truck has a mechanical gearbox with nine forward gears and one reverse gear. The brake system works with compressed air, and there is also an engine brake .

The current version of the truck is technically designed for a payload of 22 tons with a dead weight of 14 tons. If the vehicle is fully loaded, the rear axle load is 13 tonnes, which is more than what is permitted on public roads in Germany, for example.

In the course of time, various cabs were mounted on the chassis, including specimens that visually correspond to those of the MAZ-5337 . Unlike many of the manufacturer's trucks, no military version of the MZKT-8007 is built.
