The MZKT-6515 ( Russian МЗКТ-6515 ) is a heavy truck made by the Belarusian manufacturer Minski Zavod Koljosnych Tjagachei (Russian Минский завод колёсных тягачей, MZKT for short, or МЗКkerТ in German ) Radschlepperwerk . The four-axle dump truck has been in production since 1994 and is designed for a total weight of 46 tons. In the course of time, different versions of the vehicle were created, which differ among other things in the shape of the body.

Vehicle history

As early as 1979, with the MAZ-7516, there was a prototype of a heavy tipper manufactured by MZKT. For this purpose, the all-wheel drive chassis of a MAZ-543 was equipped with a tipping skip for 19 tons of load. In Soviet times, however, there was never any series production.

The Minsky Sawod Koljosnych Tjagachei started manufacturing the MZKT-6515 three years after the collapse of the Soviet Union in 1994. The first revised model variant, the MZKT-65158, appeared in 1997. It was designed for a gross vehicle weight rating of 48 tons and had a JaMZ-238D engine that developed 330 HP (243 kW). The cabins were supplied by Minski Avtomobilny Zavod and correspond to those of the MAZ-5337 . They are used in the same optics in the manufacturer's current trucks. When loaded, the vehicle consumes 51.8 l / 100 km at a constant 80 km / h, and it takes 61.1 seconds to accelerate from standstill to 60 km / h. On unpaved roads, the consumption increases to 102 l / 100 km, with an average speed of 26.5 km / h (depending on the road conditions).

Unlike many of the manufacturer's other vehicles, the tipper does not have all-wheel drive, only the two rear axles are driven. A V8 four-stroke diesel engine of the type JaMZ-7511.10, which is manufactured in the Jaroslawski Motorny Sawod , serves as the drive for the current examples . With a displacement of 14.86 liters, it develops 400 hp (294 kW) and has a nominal torque of 2110 Nm. It meets the Euro 2 emissions standard and is designed for a service life of 800,000 kilometers. The truck has a mechanical gearbox with nine forward gears and one reverse gear. The braking system works with compressed air and is equipped with ABS.

Most versions of the truck are technically designed for a payload of 30 tons with a dead weight of around 16 tons. If the vehicle is fully loaded, the rear axle load is 15 tonnes, which is more than what is permitted on public roads in Germany, for example. With the MZKT-651520 a version for 25 tons payload was also built, the vehicle has a three-way tipping bridge. Other and currently offered versions are designed as rear tippers.

MZKT now offers similar vehicles with more modern engines and cabins. The Minski Avtomobilny Sawod has also been manufacturing a very similar vehicle in Minsk since 2008 with the MAZ-6516 .
