The Mac3Park Stadion ( spelling MAC³PARK Stadion ) is a football stadium in the Dutch city ​​of Zwolle , in the province of Overijssel . The PEC Zwolle plays its home games in the sports facility . It replaces the old Oosterenk Stadium built in 1934 . On June 7, 2012, Edward van Wonderen from PEC Zwolle announced that the FC Zwolle stadium will in future be called the IJsseldeltastadion. It has had its current name since July 2016.

history

In a city council meeting on March 17, 2003 it was decided to build a new stadium in Zwolle. Not only a stadium was to be built, but an entire complex with 35,000 square meters of commercial space with shops, leisure facilities, a fitness studio , a hotel and a casino with 400 seats. The project was delayed as local residents protested the construction. After a referendum on May 12, 2005 the way was clear for construction. On August 11, 2006, the club FC Zwolle agreed on a lease for the stadium with Stadium Development Zwolle . The contract has a term of 25 years and includes, in addition to the stadium with 10,500 covered seats, part of the clubhouse, office space, changing and referee booths and other rooms.

Construction began on March 9, 2007 and the stadium was opened on August 29, 2009. The new building is around 40 meters from the location of the old Oosterenk Stadium . The 10,500 seats at that time are distributed over four individual, roofed spectator areas, which are about four meters higher. In the corners are the office buildings, the hotel and the casino. Eleven turnstile systems are installed at the entrances . The business club is spread over two floors. On the first floor of 1,000 square meters there is a large room and several small rooms. On the second floor there are VIP - boxes and a restaurant overlooking the pitch. The floodlight system is not integrated into the roof, as is common today in new buildings. It is enthroned on four tubular steel masts in the corners of the stadium. Special seats have been set up in the east stand for disabled visitors. The guest fans find their places on the south tier. The 600 places are partitioned off with walls made of plexiglass . The area can be divided into a part with 400 and a part with 200 seats. There are 1,260 parking spaces for visitors around the stadium and six training grounds behind them.

In November 2015, the real estate company MAC³PARK became the name sponsor of the complex. Since July 1, 2016, the venue has been named MAC³PARK Stadium for three years. Due to an expansion in summer 2016, the stadium currently offers 13,250 seats. At the beginning of 2017, a solar system with around 2,000 modules is to be installed on the four roofs of the grandstands. The club had already announced this in 2014, as the stadium does not belong to the club, the two parties first had to agree on the terms.
