Mahlitzsch is located about 6 kilometers northeast of Nossen in the middle of Saxony.

Neighboring villages of Mahlitzsch are Wunschwitz in the north, Heynitz in the northeast, Kottewitz in the east, Rothschönberg in the southeast, Mergenthal in the south, Deutschenbora and Eula in the southwest, Wendischbora in the west and Gohla and Katzenberg in the northwest.

Mahlitzsch is in the Lommatzscher Pflege , a hilly landscape of central Saxony.

history

The first recorded form of place names dates from 1334 as Malacs . In 1819 August Schumann mentions Mahlitzsch in the state, post and newspaper encyclopedia of Saxony concerning a. a .:

“In writing it belongs to the Wendischbohra manor, has 13 hooves and is parish in Krögis. There are 6 farmers, 5 gardeners , 3 cottagers and 1 Schenkwirth, in all 16 houses and 90 residents. - A clay is being dug here which, for the last few years, has been used to make capsules in the Meissen porcelain factory. The profit of the two farmers on whose fields he is found consists primarily in the wages. "

Albert Schiffner added in 1833: "There is a lime distillery in the east."

In 1935 Mahlitzsch was incorporated into Ilkendorf. On January 1, 1973, the Ilkendorf community was incorporated into the Heynitz community . The latter was incorporated into the city of Nossen on January 1, 2003, making Mahlitzsch a part of the municipality of Nossen since then.

Since 1993 there has been a farm in Mahlitzsch that operates organic farming according to Demeter and sells the goods regionally.
