Malwina Kopron (born November 16, 1994 in Puławy ) is a Polish hammer thrower .

Athletic career

Malwina Kopron gained her first international experience in 2011 at the World Youth Championships near Lille , where she won the silver medal with 57.03 m. The following year she took part in the Junior World Championships in Barcelona and was eliminated from the qualification without a valid attempt. In 2013 she missed a medal at the Junior European Championships in Rieti , finishing fourth with 63.13 m. In 2015 she won the bronze medal at the U23 European Championships in Tallinn with 68.57 m and thus qualified for the World Championships in Beijing , where she was eliminated with 69.53 m in the qualification . In 2016 she was sixth at the European Championships in Amsterdam with 70.91 m and could not qualify for the final at the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro with 69.69 m . The following year she started at the World Championships in London , where she won the bronze medal behind her compatriot Anita Włodarczyk and the Chinese Wang Zheng in the final with a width of 74.76 m . A few weeks later, she again increased her best performance at the Student World Games in Taiwan , setting a new championship record of 76.85 m and thus winning the gold medal.

In 2018 Kopron reached fourth place at the European Championships in Berlin with 72.20 m and in 2019 she won the silver medal behind Ukrainian Iryna Klymez at the Summer Universiade in Naples with a width of 70.89 m .

In 2019 Kopron became the Polish hammer throw champion.
