The Maquoketa Township is one of 18 townships in Jackson County in the eastern part of the US -amerikanischen state of Iowa .

Maquoketa Township is located in eastern Iowa around 40 km west of the Mississippi , which forms the border with Illinois . The Wisconsin border is around 50 km north.
The Maquoketa Township is 42 ° 04'36 "north latitude and 90 ° 36'40" west longitude and extends over 94 km². The township is traversed by the Maquoketa River , a right tributary of the Mississippi.
Maquoketa Township is located in the south of Jackson County and borders on Clinton County to the south . Within Jackson County, Maquoketa Township is bordered by South Fork Township to the west, Farmers Creek Township to the northwest , Perry Township to the north, Jackson Township to the northeast and Fairfield Township to the east .

US Highway 61 runs through the southwest of Maquoketa Township . The Iowa Highway 62 leads out of the city of Maquoketa as the northeast and Iowa Highway 64 as the eastern arterial road. All other roads are either county roads or further subordinate and partly unpaved roads.
