The Monmouth Township is one of 18 townships in Jackson County in the eastern part of the US -amerikanischen state of Iowa .

The Monmouth Township is located in eastern Iowa about 50 km west of the Mississippi , which forms the border with Illinois . The border with Wisconsin is about 55 km north-northeast.
The Monmouth Township is 42 ° 04'35 "north latitude and 90 ° 50'27" west longitude and extends over 93.2 km². In the northeast, the township is traversed by the southern arm of the Maquoketa River , a right tributary of the Mississippi.
The Monmouth Township is located in the extreme southwest of Jackson County. It is bordered by the Clinton to the south and Jones County to the west . Within Jackson County, Monmouth Township borders on Brandon Township in the north, Farmers Creek Township in the northeast, and South Fork Township in the east .
