content

The lyrics to Marathon are in German. The music was written by Jean Frankfurter and the text by Joachim Horn-Bernges. Musically, the song moves in the area of Schlager . In terms of content, the text deals with Fischer's greatest weak point, the love for chocolate. At first it is impossible to guess who the declaration of love should be for. Only with the penultimate line "I'm dying for chocolate, what would a day be without you", Fischer reveals the secret that it is a declaration of love for chocolate.

“My heart runs a marathon
when I come near you.
I don't like to admit it,
my biggest weak point - you are.

My heart is running a marathon;
and those who know me already know.
If I am not functioning well,
then I only feel like - for you. "

- Refrain, original excerpt
