Flier is a song by German pop schlager - singer Helene Fischer . The piece is the fourth single from her seventh studio album Helene Fischer .

Creation and artwork

The song was written jointly by Kristina Bach and the Swedish songwriter Frederik Boström. The piece was mixed, produced and programmed by Andreas Herbig and Patrick 'Pyke' Salmy, with Ricardo Munoz at their side as co-producer. Munoz was also involved in the programming of the song. Helene Fischer was involved as executive producer. The mastering took place at TrueBusyness Mastering in Berlin under the direction of Sascha 'Busy' Bühren. The song was released under the music labels Island Records and Polydor and distributed through Universal Music Publishing .

On the black and white cover of the single you can only see - in addition to the artist name and song title - Fischer's face with his right hand over his mouth. It is the same picture as for the corresponding album Helene Fischer . The black and white cover of the published Remix EP shows Fischer's entire body. She wears a white blazer and underneath a black top with a deep V-neck that ends over the genital area. Fischer clasps her hands so that her bikini line is covered. After the cover picture was published, a discussion sparked off whether Fischer wears “ panties ” or not. The German-language news magazine Focus titled the image recording "Bottom Drawer". The fans on Fischer's Facebook page were also divided. Fischer himself commented on the late-night show Willkommen Österreich as follows: It was a jumping picture. The first release of Flieger took place as part of Fischer's seventh studio album Helene Fischer on May 12, 2017. The single was released around ten months later on March 16, 2018 as a single download. On June 1, 2018, Flieger (The Mixes) was released as a remix EP on CD and download. This includes eight remix versions of Flieger by well-known DJs such as Jay Frog and Rockstroh .

In order to promote the song and yourself, there were, among other things, live appearances in prime time at the Schlagercountdown - big premiere party in the First , at 1, 2 or 3 - the big anniversary show on ZDF , on Hello Again on SRF and on the RTL show Mensch Gottschalk - Das moves Germany . Markus Brandstetter from the German online magazine laut.de awarded the overall product Helene Fischer two out of five stars and, in his ironic review, came to the conclusion that the text of the piece was similar to Unter den Wolken der Toten Hosen . Likewise, flyers hit the same line as breathless through the night .

Christopher Sennfelder from the German-language e-zine Plattentests.de only awarded two out of ten points for the album. He is of the opinion that songs like Flieger or Nur mit dich would follow a simple scheme: “A little wobble and bubbling in the verses, drum rolls in the bridge, emotionally charged gasps in the choruses”.

Wolfgang Wendland from the German punk band Die Kassierer rated the Helene Fischer album for Bild and described Flieger as a ballad-like conglomeration of generalities that, in its strongest moments, ranks somewhere between Nena and Wolf Biermann . From the line "free, free, free, we are aviators", Wendland makes the statement "Free, free, free, away with slavery!"

The song reached the charts in 2017 due to high individual downloads. It wasn't released as an official single until March 16, 2018. In Germany, Flieger reached position 19 in the single charts and was in the charts for a total of three weeks.
