Marc Stein (born July 7, 1985 in Potsdam ) is a German football player . He is under contract with VfB Stuttgart II .

Career

When ESV Lok Seddin learned stone the football games . In 1997 he went to Dynamo Berlin and stayed there for three years before moving to Tennis Borussia Berlin within the city . In 2003/04 he played there in the newly founded A-Juniors Bundesliga and achieved 8th place in the table with Tennis Borussia. In the same season he received two missions for the first team of Borussia in the major league . After the end of the season he left Berlin.

Hansa Rostock

For the 2004/05 season Stein moved to the Baltic Sea coast to Hansa Rostock and played there exclusively with the amateurs in the league. He received 31 missions and was with Hansa II champion of the soccer Oberliga Nordost 2004/05 . Due to the good performance with the amateurs he got a professional contract for the 2005/06 season and has been part of the club's professional squad since then, but continued to play in the second team. On February 22, 2006, he finally made his debut for the first team. In the catch-up game in Dresden (0: 1), he was substituted on for team-mate Amir Shapourzadeh in the 71st minute . Under Hansa coach Frank Pagelsdorf , Marc Stein initially received three more short appearances, but from matchday 28 he was part of the regular team for the rest of the season. He scored his first goal for Hansa on matchday 29 against 1. FC Saarbrücken (3-0) to make it 1-0 in the 9th minute of the game. In the end, Stein reached the 10th place in the table in the 2nd Bundesliga with Hansa.

In the 2006/07 season Marc Stein was involved in Rostock's promotion to the Bundesliga with two goals in 33 games . Here he went in 31 games over the full distance of 90 minutes. In addition, Stein received a first-time appearance in the DFB Cup , but retired in the first main round against the fourth division club SV Babelsberg 03 with 1: 2. Participation in the DFB Cup was more successful a year later. Stein reached the round of 16 with Hansa and was ultimately eliminated 1: 2 against the second division club and upcoming promoted TSG Hoffenheim from this competition. Previously they defeated the fourth division club SV Rot-Weiß Hasborn (8: 0) and in the second round the second division club Kickers Offenbach 6: 0. Stein never missed a minute of the game and was therefore on the course for Hansa for the entire playing time in these three rounds. Stein made his Bundesliga debut on matchday 1 at the Olympic Stadium in Munich with record champions FC Bayern Munich (0: 3). He scored his first goal in the top German league at home on matchday 10, October 20, 2007, in the 56th minute against FC Schalke 04 . The same goal, scored against the 19-year-old and later world champion Manuel Neuer , fell into the curiosity cabinet of the Bundesliga and earned Marc Stein a lot of recognition. Neuer made a faulty throw at Stein's feet, who in turn hit with a soulful lift from a distance of 20 meters to make the final score 1: 1. After this feat and first goal for Marc Stein in the Bundesliga, the protagonist said: "I will never forget this scene because it was the first Bundesliga player in my career." The regular Stein made 29 appearances in his first season in the Bundesliga for the Rostock, did not manage to keep the league and ended up with the Ostseestädtern in the end on the relegation place 17. He did not go to the 2nd Bundesliga, his engagement on the coast ended and he changed within the Bundesliga.

Hertha BSC

For the 2008/09 season , Stein moved to Hertha BSC on a free transfer and played 42 Bundesliga games for the Berlin team. After Hertha was relegated to the 2nd Bundesliga, he was no longer given a new contract with Hertha.

FSV Frankfurt

He then moved shortly after the start of the second division season 2010/11 to league competitor FSV Frankfurt . There he had to pause twice during the preliminary round due to injuries and only made a few appearances. In the further course of the season Stein fell out with coach Hans-Jürgen Boysen and was rarely used in the first team of the FSV. In mid-August 2011, shortly after the start of the 2011/12 season, Stein and FSV Frankfurt agreed on an early termination of the contract.

Kickers Offenbach

Stein changed sides and went to the third division Kickers Offenbach .

Stuttgart Kickers

For the 2013/14 season , Stein moved to Offenbach's forced relegation from the 3rd division to the third division club Stuttgarter Kickers . There he scored eight goals in 102 league games. After the Stuttgart Kickers were relegated to the regional league after the 2015/16 season , he moved to Energie Cottbus , who were also relegated to the regional league.

Energy Cottbus

Stein was already the team captain at the start of the season. After 82 league games for FC Energie, which had meanwhile been promoted to the 3rd division in the 2018/19 season , Stein, still captain in January 2019, terminated his contract with the club that was valid until the end of the season for family reasons.

VfB Stuttgart II

After the contract was terminated in Cottbus, Stein signed a working paper with the reserve of VfB Stuttgart playing in the Regionalliga Südwest . The reason for the change was mainly that Stein's wife and son have lived in Stuttgart since his time with the Kickers.
