Marcus Bischoff (* 8. September 1980 in Rudolstadt ) is a German Metal - singer of the band Heaven Shall Burn and trained nurses .

biography

Bischoff was born on September 8, 1980 in Rudolstadt, Thuringia, as the son of a nurse and a steel trader . He attended the grammar school in Gorndorf . Because of his political views, he was harassed by some of his classmates while he was still in school. Although his mother advised against learning a nursing profession, Bischoff became a nurse himself at the age of 23 after dropping out of a degree in environmental engineering . Before that, Bischoff did a community service , where he worked with mentally handicapped people.

He lives straight edge and vegan . Bischoff works in the Thuringia clinics in Saalfeld and lives in Unterwellenborn .

Political opinions

Bischoff is committed to animal and human rights . He is also active against racism and fascism .

Career

It was through his father, who played him tapes from groups like Deep Purple and the Scorpions , that Bischoff first came into contact with the rock and metal genre. His first concert that he attended was a performance by the group Black Sabbath in 1994 in the Thüringenhalle .

When he and a musician of the local metal band Consense in a residential community lived, this also came with the other musicians in the group in contact, who asked him, einzuspielen vocals for a demo tape. At the age of 18, Bischoff was accepted into the group as a singer. A little later Consense became Heaven Shall Burn. With the group, Bischoff recorded an EP, five split releases and nine full studio albums. Six of the published albums reached a chart listing in the German album charts, five of which also entered Austria and Switzerland. The albums Veto , Wanderer and Of Truth and Sacrifice each entered the top 10, the latter even being number one on the album charts.

Bischoff has already appeared as a guest singer for groups such as Deadlock , Hate Squad , Caliban , Décembre Noir , Hansen & Friends , Mercenary , Maroon and Neaera .
