Marcus G. Kulp

Marcus G. Kulp (born July 21, 1983 in West Berlin ) is a German singer , actor and musical performer ( tenor ).

Life

After graduating from Freiherr-vom-Stein-Gymnasium and doing community service, he began studying musicology at the Humboldt University in Berlin, as well as classical singing training with Carlos Aguirre. After performing several times as a vocal soloist in the Philharmonie Berlin and working on a short film for the Berlin Philharmonic , in 2005 he switched to training as a musical performer at the Joop van den Ende Academy in Hamburg.

Engagements followed a. at As once in May and in Aladin . In Eisenach and Marburg he was part of the ensemble of Elisabeth - Die Legende einer Heiligen , where he was also assistant to the musical director. In 2009 he took on the role of Gerlach at the world premiere of Rhönpaulus - Das Musical . Subsequently he was u. a. in the opera Trouble in Tahiti , A Midsummer Night's Dream , 1830 - The lock must burn and dynamite! to experience.

He was part of the premiere cast of Die Päpstin - The Musical in Fulda and Hameln and was seen under the direction of Holger Hauer in La Cage aux Folles at the Landestheater Coburg and in Cabaret in the tent palace Merzig. From 2012 to 2016 he was a permanent guest at the Landestheater Coburg u. a. in Im Weißen Rößl , Sunset Boulevard , Hair , Der Vogelhändler and the German-language premiere of Barry Manilow's Copacabana . In Titanic - Das Musical he took part both on the Walensee stage in Walenstadt (Switzerland) and in a guest performance by the Brno City Theater at the Ingolstadt Theater.

In the new production of Die Päpstin - Das Musical in Neunkirchen (Saar) , he was the second cast for all male leading roles and took over the first cast Rabanus / Fulgentius in the Stuttgart game series. After that he was seen from May to September 2018 in the Füssen Festspielhaus in the revival of Ludwig² . This was followed by an engagement as a walk-in cover for all male roles in Frank Nimsgern's Der Ring . At the Füssen premiere of Die Päpstin - The Musical you could experience him as an alternating cast of Gerold, Rabanus and Johanna's father. In the following winter season of Ludwig² he was the first occupation of the Dr. von Gudden and for the first time cover of the title role Ludwig II.

In the summer of 2019, Kulp returned to Fulda as Emperor Lothar for the original production of The Popess .

At the Musicalsommer Fulda in 2020 he was part of the cast for the planned world premiere of Robin Hood - The Musical by Chris de Burgh and Dennis Martin . As a result of the COVID-19 pandemic , production for 2020 was canceled and a postponement to 2021 with the same cast was announced.

Since 2012, Kulp has been regularly taking part in readings and presentations of the development of plays by the Gallissas-Theaterverlag u. a. involved in collaboration with Xavier Naidoo , Marcus Heitz and Ralph Siegel .
