Career
Marek Kvapil began his career as a hockey player in the youth of HC Slavia Prague , for whose professional team he made his debut in the Czech extra league in the 2003/04 season . In his rookie year , the attacker remained unpunished in eleven games and became runner-up with his team. He also ran four times for HC Kometa Brno from the 1st division this season .
The left shooter then moved to the Saginaw Spirit in the Ontario Hockey League . Then Kvapil was selected in the NHL Entry Draft 2005 in the sixth round as the 163rd player of the Tampa Bay Lightning , for which he, however, remained without use in the National Hockey League . Instead, he ran from 2005 to 2008 for their farm teams from the American Hockey League , the Springfield Falcons and Norfolk Admirals , and for the Johnstown Chiefs and Mississippi Sea Wolves from the ECHL .
In the summer of 2008 Kvapil returned to his Czech homeland, where he received a contract with HC Vítkovice Steel from the Extraliga. He also scored a total of six points, including four goals, in four games for HC VOKD Poruba from the first division in the 2008/09 season . After two successful seasons in Ostrava, he moved in July 2010 within the Extraliga to HC Kometa Brno , with whom he reached the league in 2011 in the relegation. In April 2011 he was signed by the OHK Dynamo from the Continental Hockey League , with whom he won the Gagarin Cup and the Russian championship in 2012 and 2013 .
After holding positions at Severstal Tscherepowez and KHL Medveščak Zagreb , he has been playing for Neftechimik Nizhnekamsk in the KHL since December 2015 .
In 2017 he became Czech champion for the first time in his career with HC Kometa Brno . At the beginning of the 2017/18 season he played for Amur Khabarovsk from the Continental Hockey League, but was dismissed after 11 season games for Amur.
On November 10, 2017, the Bílí Tygři Liberec announced the signing of the striker until the end of the 2019/20 season. In the 2018/19 season he was 2nd in the scorer rating with 57 points and made an important contribution to winning the main round and the runner-up title.
After the season he joined HC Sparta Prague .
