Maren Valenti (born October 15, 1976 in Freiburg im Breisgau ) is a former German ice hockey player and coach .
Career
Valenti was active as a player at the clubs EV Ravensburg , EHC Freiburg , Mannheimer ERC , Heilbronner EC , ESG Esslingen , EHC Bülach (Switzerland), Vancouver Griffins , Panthères de Sainte-Julie (Canada), OSC Berlin and TV Kornwestheim . She was German champion in 1990, 1992, 1997, 1999 and 2000 and German runner-up in 1991, 1993, 1994 and 1998.
In 1990, when he was thirteen, Valenti took part in an A World Cup with the German national team. This makes her the youngest World Cup participant in her sport to this day. Further participation followed in 1994, 1997, 1999 and 2000. She also completed the European Championships in 1991, 1993, 1995 and 1996. The high point of her career was participation in the 2002 Olympic Games in Salt Lake City. In total, she scored 86 goals and 64 assists in 164 international matches.
In 1998 Valenti trained for four weeks with the Eisbären Berlin and was the first woman to have a short stint in a men's game in German ice hockey. In 1999 she was active in the 2nd division with the men of the EHC Freiburg . In 2006 she ended her active career as a player.
After her resignation, she was in charge of ESV Hügelsheim and the Mannheim ERC as a trainer. Since then she has been training the offspring of the Frankfurt Lions.
In 2009 she was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame Germany .

Family and work
Her brother Sven Valenti is also a hockey player. After her active time as an ice hockey player, the trained media designer became a Pop Art artist. In 2008 she announced her multiple sclerosis disease.
