Margus Ader (born February 15, 1977 in Võru ) is a former Estonian biathlete .

Margus Ader made his international debut at the 1997 Biathlon Junior World Championships in Forni Avoltri , where he finished seventh in the individual. In the 1997/98 season he contested his first race in the Biathlon World Cup in Östersund and was 103rd in an individual. In the further course of the season he reached a sprint in Pokljuka as 69th for the first time a placement among the top 100. 1999 Ader took part in Oslo for the first time in the Biathlon World Championships and was 54th of the individual. At the 1999 Summer Biathlon World Championships in Minsk , he won the bronze medal with Dimitri Borovik , Roland Lessing and Indrek Tobreluts behind the teams from Russia and Latvia in the relay race. A year later , again in Oslo, he was used in the individual at the World Championships and was 60. In 2001 he did not finish the individual in Pokljuka as a lapped runner, with Janno Prants , Indrek Tobreluts and Dimitri Borovik he came on as the final runner of the relay 15th place at the end of the season was the 2001 Military World Ski Championships in Jericho , where he was 51st in the sprint. The highlight of the season of the following year was the 2002 European Biathlon Championships in Kontiolahti . Ader finished 17th in the individual, 24th in the sprint and 29th in the pursuit. In 2003 he was in Forni Avoltri 43rd of the individual, 42nd of the sprint and 34th of the pursuit race of the European Championships.

The highlights of 2004 were the Military World Ski Championships in Östersund , where Ader was 31st in the sprint and 13th in the military patrol with Priit Narusk , Janno Prants and Dimitri Borovik, and the 2004 Summer Biathlon World Championships in Osrblie . In Slovakia the Estonian finished eleventh in the sprint, 14th in the pursuit, 12th in the mass start and fifth in the relay race with Indrek Tobreluts, Priit Viks and Dimitri Borovik. Towards the end of the 2004/05 season Ader achieved his best World Cup result in a sprint in Pokljuka as 36th. Ader's last world title fights followed with the biathlon world championships in 2005 in Hochfilzen . In the individual he finished 46th, with Prants, Lessing, and Borovik in the relay race 16th. In 2006 he ended his active career after a season with only one World Cup appearance and above all racing in the Biathlon European Cup .

After his active career, Ader worked in an official position for the Estonian Association.
