Mariusz Zbigniew Pudzianowski (born February 7, 1977 in Biała Rawska , Poland ) is a Polish strongman and MMA fighter . The strongman record holder is also known by the nicknames Pudzian , Dominator or Pyton .

Life

Mariusz Pudzianowski started strength training on December 7, 1990 . At the age of 16, he first took part in a weight training competition, a bench press championship, where he pressed 160 kg. Two years later he increased to 205 kg. Besides making Pudzianowski since he was eleven years old regularly Kyokushin - Karate and was a boxer active. For several years he also played rugby for the Polish club KS Budowlani Łódź as a striker .

Pudzianowski played his first strongman competition on May 1, 1999 in Płock . He started his international career in 2000 with a fourth place in World's Strongest Man . In 2002, Pudzianowski took first place. He repeated this success in 2003, 2005, 2007 and 2008. With five wins, he is the sole record holder of the title ahead of the four-time winners Jón Páll Sigmarsson , Magnús Ver Magnússon , Žydrūnas Savickas and Brian Shaw. In 2004, IFSA disqualified Pudzianowski from the competition for one year and asked to return his prize money. However, he did not want to accept this, whereupon the IFSA brought a case against Pudzianowski, which was ultimately discontinued without imposing any punitive measures.

In 2009 Pudzianowski began to become active as an MMA fighter. He played two victorious fights for the Polish organizer Konfrontacja Sztuk Walki and then lost to Tim Sylvia at the American MMA event Moosin - God of Martial Arts . In September 2010 he defeated Eric Esch in Łódź .

Pudzianowski has achieved cult status in Poland, which has helped him to make many guest appearances on television and radio programs. Among other things, he took part in the Polish version of Dancing with the Stars .
