Markus Lackner (born April 5, 1991 in Baden ) is an Austrian football player . The defender is currently under contract with SK Sturm Graz .

Career

Lackner began his career at SC Pfaffstätten in Lower Austria . In 2000 he moved to the youth department of FC Admira Wacker Mödling , where he was brought into the second team nine years later, which is active in the Regionalliga Ost. He made his debut in the third-highest Austrian division on March 10, 2009 against SV Horn , when he came on in the 40th minute for Ivan Laudanović . The game in Horn was lost 1: 3. In 2010/11 he was also part of the first team's squad and with that managed to move up to the top Austrian division, the Bundesliga. He came on three missions in the championship season, the first on July 12, 2010. Lackner played through in the 4-1 away win against SKN St. Pölten .

In the 2011/12 season he was loaned out to former league competitor First Vienna FC , where he played 25 games and scored three goals. For the 2012/13 season, the defender returned to Admira and made his Bundesliga debut. On December 8, 2012, he played under coach Dietmar Kühbauer against SV Ried in the 0-3 home defeat. In 2013 it was awarded again, this time to SV Horn .

For the 2018/19 season he moved to SK Sturm Graz , where he received a contract that ran until June 2021. He returned to Admira on loan in August 2019. By the end of the loan, he had made 27 Bundesliga appearances for Admira.

National team

Internationally, he played a game for the Austrian U-18 national team.
