Martin Thaler (* 1974 in Brixen ) is from South Tyrol originating German - Italian actor .

Life

Martin Thaler is the son of a South Tyrolean and a German. His mother comes from the Rhineland . He first studied political science in Vienna and completed his university education as a political scientist.

He gained his first acting experience between 1992 and 1995 at the South Tyrolean theater association "Theater im Regenbogen" in Brixen, where he participated in several theater and musical productions. From 1999 to 2002 he received his acting training at the Vienna Conservatory , which he completed with distinction. His teachers included u. a. Elfriede Ott , with whom he developed several roles and in whose productions he played several times. During his training he performed at the Nestroy Festival at Liechtenstein Castle in Maria Enzersdorf , at the Theater in der Josefstadt and in various theater projects.

Even in later years he was on stage again and again. a. in the 2006/07 season in the Theater am Kurfürstendamm in the comedy The sweetest fruits by Stefan Vögel, staged by Andreas Schmidt . In the 2009/10 season and November / December 2010 he appeared in the role of the pilot at the United Theaters in Bolzano in the Christmas production The Little Prince . In 2011 he was a guest at the “Carambolage” cabaret in Bolzano .

Thaler also worked in numerous film and TV productions and starred in several short films. He worked in front of the camera a. a. with Sabine Derflinger , Manfred Stelzer , Thomas Nennstiel , Carolin Otterbach , Philipp J. Pamer , Matthias Lang , Ralf Huettner and Stefan Hering .

Anja Kling was his partner in the Sat1 comedy Die Masche mit der Liebe (2007), in which he played the ex-boyfriend of a single young woman . In the German-Italian historical film Bergblut (2010) he portrayed the historical figure of the Tyrolean farmer Franz Raffl . In the TV docudrama Wir, Geiseln der SS (2015) he played the Austrian Chancellor Kurt Schuschnigg . In the Burg Schreckenstein children's films (2016 and 2017) he was the teacher Dr. Waldmann.

Thaler also had guest appearances in several TV series, u. a. in There comes Kalle (2008), Forsthaus Falkenau (2013), Hubert without Staller (2019) and in several seasons of the ZDF series Die Rosenheim-Cops . In the 19th season of the Rosenheim Cops (2019) he again played one of the episode roles, this time as environmentalist and mushroom expert Dr. Gundlach.

Thaler also worked as a screenwriter for his own film projects . He has German and Italian citizenship and lives in Munich .
