Matt Clohesy

Matthew "Matt" Clohesy (* around 1970 ) is an Australian modern jazz musician ( double bass ) living in the United States .

Live and act

Matt Clohesy grew up in Melbourne . He received his Bachelor of Music from the Victorian College of the Arts in Melbourne. In Australia he played with Dale Barlow , Mike Nock , Joe Chindamo , Vince Jones and the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra, among others . In 2001 he moved to New York City; there he has since worked with musicians such as Tyler Blanton , Darcy James Argue , Geoffrey Keezer , Ingrid Jensen , Maria Schneider , Donny McCaslin , Joe Locke , Eric Alexander , Joel Frahm , Eric Person , Lage Lund , Seamus Blake , Kendrick Scott , Gretchen Parlato and David Reaper . In the field of jazz he was involved in 94 recording sessions between 1993 and 2018, in addition to the aforementioned also with Jay Thomas , Barney McAll , Pete McCann , Alan Ferber and Nate Radley .
