Matthias Körner (Author)
Matthias Körner (born September 23, 1954 in Kamenz ) is a German writer , feature and radio play author .
Life
Körner comes from a family of teachers. After graduating from high school in 1973, he studied from 1975 to 1979 at the Plant Production Section of the Humboldt University in Berlin to become a qualified agricultural engineer . He then worked for an agricultural production cooperative (LPG) in the Kamenz district and completed a distance learning course at the Leipzig Literature Institute , after which he worked part-time as district secretary of the Cottbus writers' association in the LPG.
Körner realized works for film and television, radio plays, features and prose. His first novel The dead leg and his novel reprieve wrote Ulrich Plenzdorf screenplays. His film essay And do not lead us in temptation to a film about the Lord's Prayer from 1992, shot in the Welzow-Süd opencast mine , was nominated for a Catholic film festival in Poland. His play Not a Last Day was premiered at the Cottbus State Theater .
Körner is a member of the PEN Center and the Association of German Writers .
Körner lives in Illmersdorf , a district of the Brandenburg town of Drebkau .
