Matthias Scherwenikas
Matthias Scherwenikas (* 1971 in East Berlin ) is a German actor , radio play and voice actor .
Life
Matthias Scherwenikas received his acting training at the Max Reinhardt Seminar in Vienna (1991–1994) and at Sunbridge College in New York . He also studied directing at GITIS in Moscow from 1994 to 1997 and an additional course at the Michael Chekhov Institute in New York from 1997 to 1999, for which he received a graduate and postgraduate scholarship from the DAAD .
As an actor and director he worked in Berlin , Hamburg , Vienna, Salzburg , Moscow and New York, among others . He is a member of the reading and documentary theater “Stage for Human Rights” in Berlin. Since 2005 he has been active as a speaker and reciter at the Berlin International Literature Festival .
Since the early 1990s, he has been in front of the camera for several cinema and TV productions. He made his TV debut under the direction of Michael Knof as a pupil Heinrich at the side of Ulrich Mühe in the literary film Jugend ohne Gott (1991). This was followed by episode roles in several TV series. In the third season of the ZDF crime series SOKO Wismar (2006), he took on one of the episode roles as hotel receptionist and barkeeper, alongside Claudia Schmutzler and Michael Härle .
Scherwenikas worked in numerous readings, radio, radio play and audio book productions, etc. a. with rbb , WDR and Deutschlandradio . He read audio books on historical events ( Hiroshima , Watergate , RAF ), on important personalities of the 20th century ( Fidel Castro , Muhammad Ali ) and on the subject of geography ( Mexico , Thailand ). He is also a speaker on television, u. a. active in documentaries and cultural broadcasts for 3sat ( Kulturzeit ), SAT1 ( file broadcasts and 24 hours ) and N24 . He works intensively as a voice actor. He lent his voice u. a. Brendan Fehr , Jason Mewes , Yannick Bisson and Charlie Finn .
Matthias Scherwenikas lives as a freelance actor and speaker in Berlin.
