Maurens ( Occitan : Maurencs ) is a village and a former municipality with 1,050 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the Dordogne department in southwestern France in the region Nouvelle-Aquitaine (before 2016 Aquitaine ). Maurens belonged to the Arrondissement of Périgueux and the canton of Périgord Central (until 2015: Canton of Villamblard ).

The decree of September 25, 2018, with effect from January 1, 2019, incorporated the Maurens into the Commune déléguée together with the former municipalities of Laveyssière , Saint-Jean-d'Eyraud and Saint-Julien-de-Crempse to form the Commune nouvelle Eyraud-Crempse -Maurens feast . The administrative headquarters are in Maurens.

The name in the Occitan language is Maurencs and either has its origin in the Germanic name "Mauringos" or it can be traced back to an estate that belonged to a "Maurincum" in Gallo-Roman times .
