Maurice Gajda (born May 23, 1983 in Magdeburg ) is a German presenter and journalist . He moderates on the German TV station RTL Television as well as on the public radio stations Radio Fritz at Rundfunk Berlin-Brandenburg and MDR Sputnik at Mitteldeutscher Rundfunk . Before that he worked for the German television station Joiz Germany , ProSieben .

Career

Gajda grew up in Magdeburg and completed the entire school education there up to the Abitur in 2002. Afterwards he worked for the press office of the Federation for Environment and Nature Conservation Germany (BUND) in Saxony-Anhalt until 2003 as part of the civil service . When he was 16, he was already involved in the Magdeburg Open Canal with his passion for electronic pop music . There he produced and hosted the weekly program pop10. Right from the start he attached great importance to new and good music from the electro and indie rock scene; the music that shaped his life. In 2005 Gajda completed his training as a media designer for image and sound , which he completed at the Upper School Center for Communication, Information and Media Technology (OSZ KIM) in Berlin and at the Open Channels in Saxony-Anhalt.

After his first professional experience with television, Maurice Gajda took on an editorial job at the radio station Rockland Sachsen-Anhalt in 2005 , before taking over the Sunday evening program Soundgarden on Radio Fritz and the online program Mein Fritz TV as a presenter. This was followed by other programs on the youth radio station, such as meinfritz. the weekday Soundgarden in the morning, the call-in talk show Blue Moon , and festival live broadcasts such as Die Neuen DeutschPoeten . He also worked as an editor for Mitteldeutscher Rundfunk.

Gajda has been part of the team of moderators at the youth television channel joiz Germany since 2013. He prevailed against 19 competitors in a public casting and subsequent online voting. Then he hosted the music program Home Run, which was exclusively devoted to new musicians and bands. In November 2014, another program hosted by Gajda started on joiz: X-Plizit, a music clip show that is dedicated to creepy, polarizing music videos.

Gajda has also been a YouTuber since 2015, and has been selling self-designed clothing under his own brand Planet Sexor since the summer of this year. Since August 2015, Gajda has been shooting for ProSieben magazine Galileo as a reporter for various categories.

From November 2016 Gajda hosted the live radio format “Talkradio” together with Kevin Klose, which was broadcast on MDR Sputnik on Sundays at 7 pm. After 9 years, he ends the moderation of the evening program Soundgarden on Radio Fritz on February 19, 2017. He stays at Radio Fritz at irregular intervals on Sundays with the show Best Music with the best guests .

Since December 2016, Maurice Gajda has been moderating winter sports reports for the German Eurosport program with a focus on the Four Hills Tournament .

In June 2017, Maurice Gajda hosted the ProSieben Primetime Show Global Gladiators .

During the 23rd Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang , South Korea , Gajda presented daily reports for Eurosport . With the eighth season of the ProSieben show The Voice of Germany there is a podcast accompanying the broadcast , moderated by Maurice Gajda. In addition to current participants in the show, Jamie-Lee Kriewitz can be heard regularly on the podcast.

In June 2019, Gajda switched to RTL and added to the team of moderators for the breakfast program Guten Morgen Deutschland . Since October 2019, Maurice Gajda has also been moderating the weekly RTL magazine Explosiv - Das Magazin and adding Nazan Eckes to the team of moderators . Gajda has been the first male presenter to moderate the magazine since Markus Lanz.
