Fritz DeutschPoeten (formerly Die Neuen DeutschPoeten ) is a music festival or an event concept that was initiated by Radio Fritz from Berlin . Radio Fritz, the public youth radio station of Rundfunk Berlin-Brandenburg (RBB), puts German-speaking artists on the stage who are particularly characterized by their poetry in their texts.

history

The basic idea was that Fritz would bring artists to a live stage who had mainly caught the eye recently because of their lyrics. But do they speak their own language and thus find favor with an entire generation. A whole handful of musicians can be enumerated here who clearly differ from the great dinosaurs like Marius Müller-Westernhagen , Herbert Grönemeyer or from the NDW or from the Hamburg School, for example. B. Kettcar , Blumfeld , Tocotronic take off. In Fritz's opinion , there are, among others, Clueso , Philipp Poisel , Axel Bosse , Kraftklub , Bilderbuch , Cro , AnnenMayKantereit , Thees Uhlmann , Madsen , Casper , Marteria , but also such German-speaking artists as MIA. ' We are heroes , Gisbert zu Knyphausen , Peter Fox , Jan Delay , Sido , Fettes Brot and Deichkind and a few others who are putting a new stamp on the new German musical language.

The start of the Fritz - Die Neuen DeutschPoeten took place on June 12, 2010 in the sold-out (1600 visitors) Berlin Astra.

On September 3, 2011, part 2 took place in the also sold-out (13,000 visitors) IFA summer garden of Messe Berlin. The third edition, moderated by Hadnet Tesfai and Axel Bosse , took place on September 1, 2012 with 12,000 visitors, again in the IFA summer garden. The 4th edition was moderated by Visa Vie and Chris Guse and took place on September 7, 2013. Again during IFA in the summer garden of Messe Berlin and was sold out with 13,000 fans. For the five-year anniversary, the two Fritz moderators Kathrin Thüring and Chris Guse moderated the festival, which took place again on September 6, 2014 in the IFA summer garden and this time was sold out two months in advance with 13,000 tickets. Fritz moderator Visa Vie led this edition, as in the previous year, together with Chris Guse, through a nine-hour livestream, which could be seen on fritz.de. All appearances of the acts were broadcast live there and interviews and live impressions of the radio event were shown between the performances. The RBB television broadcast a week later, a three-hour summary in his program. In 2015 the Radio Festival was officially expanded as a two-day festival. Friday was added to the previous Saturday, on which, however, only two German-speaking artists were presented by Fritz. As in previous years, the number of German poets performing on Saturday remained at eight and they were once again part of the IFA. The summer garden of Messe Berlin had 26,000 visitors on both days. So on September 4th and 5th, 2015 Fritz - Die Neue DeutschPoeten were sold out with 13,000 people each. Fritz moderator David Krause moderated the first day and the second day Fritz moderators Kathrin Thüring and Tim Schultheiß stood on the DeutschPoeten stage. Both days were streamed live on fritz.de again and Fritz presenter Visa Vie accompanied the users through their live reporting. Her insights from the backstage area and her long-term interviews with the performing artists are now an important part of the live broadcast on the Internet. This time rbb television broadcast a 90-minute summary five days later, but at a significantly earlier point in the evening program. Due to the broadcasts on the radio, on television and on the Internet, Fritz - Die Neue DeutschPoeten sees itself as a tri-media project by the rbb.

The idea and concept come from Frank Menzel, Fritz music editor and project manager.
