Max Bauböck

Max Bauböck (born April 9, 1897 in Ried im Innkreis ; † February 22, 1971 ibid) was an Austrian high school director and historian , archivist and local researcher in Ried im Innkreis.

Live and act

After graduating from high school and doing military service , he studied at the University of Vienna and in 1923 passed the teaching qualification test for secondary schools for German , history and geography . He attended other lectures in art history and music , where he learned the basics for his later participation as a violinist , choir member and music critic .

His professional activity began as an employee of the Federal Health Insurance Fund in Vienna until he was called to the grammar school in his home town of Ried in 1929. There he was in 1952 first provisional and definitive from 1961 Director and directed in addition from 1954 to 1960, the newly founded Expositur from Bundesgymnasium and Bundesrealgymnasium Braunau am Inn and entered 1963 as Councilor in retirement .

His extracurricular activities began in 1930 as curator of the Ried Museum Association and later became chairman of the association. From 1938 to 1942 he headed the Ried City Library and in 1942 he was appointed head of the Innviertel Folklore House. from 1946 on he was first secretary, later chairman and honorary chairman of the Innviertel artists 'guild and after the death of Karl Hosaeus also edited the yearbooks of the artists' association.

As a local politician, he was the cultural advisor for the city of Ried and earned merit in the Stelzhamer research after he had already dealt with the Innviertel dialect in Stelzhamer's writings in his dissertation in 1930 .
