Maximilian Gustav Erdmann Joseph Graf von Roedern (born July 17, 1816 in Glumbowitz , † April 2, 1898 in Breslau ) was a Prussian lieutenant general .

Maximilian was a son of the war and domain councilor Erdmann Gustav von Roedern (1781–1861) and his wife Natalie, née Countess Henckel von Donnersmarck (1789–1875), a daughter of the Prussian major general Elias Maximilian Henckel von Donnersmarck

Military career

Roedern joined the 1st Cuirassier Regiment of the Prussian Army as a cuirassier on October 6, 1834 and was promoted to secondary lieutenant by mid-June 1836 . From September 1841 he was assigned to the teaching cadron for one year and from October 5, 1843 to July 22, 1844 he served as a regimental adjutant. As a prime lieutenant in 1852 he was assigned to the cavalry tribe of the Landwehr Battalion in the 38th Infantry Regiment (6th Reserve Regiment) and rose to Rittmeister at the end of June 1852 . From July 25, 1854 to March 17, 1858 Roedern was squadron chief in his main regiment, was then transferred to the 5th cuirassier regiment and on June 14, 1859, promoted to major as a regular staff officer. After him on 25 July 1859 the regiment aggregated had he commanded as-budgetary staff officer combined 1st Lancers on 12 May 1860 from the on 1 July 1860 2. Pomeranian Lancers Regiment. 9 emerged . In addition to both classes of the Iron Cross , Roedern was awarded the Grand Cross of the House Order of the White Falcon . Roeder married on May 4, 1848 in Breslau Luise von Mutius (1823-1894), a daughter of the general of the cavalry Louis von Mutius . After her death he married Magdalene von Dallwitz (1854–1927) in Dresden on November 23, 1895 .
