Maxine Kazis

Maxine Kazis (born 1990 in Basel ) is a Greek - Swiss singer and actress . She became known to the public through her album The Evolution of the Maxine Kazis .

Life

Maxine Kazis was born in Basel and grew up there. The daughter of a singer and a graphic designer, she grew up in an artistic household, attended from the age of five, the ballet school , the music school and learned flute . During her high school graduation, she chose the focus on art. At the age of 16 she joined the Junge Theater Basel .

At 18, she moved to Hamburg to at the end of Academy Joop van in dance , singing and drama to be trained. She received her first engagements as an actress at Theater Kiel under director Daniel Karasek . At the opera she played her first leading role in William S. Burroughs and Tom Waits The Black Rider as Käthchen.

This was followed by a permanent engagement at the Schauspielhaus Kiel , during which she a. a. Desdemona in Othello , Juliet from Romeo and Juliet , played by Katja Schurmann in Theo van Gogh's Das Interview and Irina in Anton Chekhov's Three Sisters .

In 2014 she was awarded the Schleswig-Holstein Art Prize ( sponsorship prize ) for her performance in the theater.

In 2018 she received the Karl Heinz Walther Prize (Young Talent Prize) for the title role Irma La Douce at the Grenzlandtheater Aachen .

Since 2019 she has played the zookeeper Karoline Schneider in the series Veterinarian Dr. Mertens .

After completing her training, she moved to Berlin and met the producers Peter Plate , Ulf Leo Sommer and Daniel Faust. Since then, there have been repeated joint projects such as B. the soundtrack for the movie Coming In by Marco Kreutzpaintner.

In 2015 she got a record deal with the Berlin label pop-out music . She then wrote and produced her first EP Metamorphose and her debut album Die Evolution der Maxine Kazis , both of which were released in 2016, together with Peter Plate, Ulf Leo Sommer, Daniel Faust and Sinan Bombeiter . In the same year she played her first Germany tour and was on tour as support with the band MIA .
