The locomotives No. 21–24 of Deutsch-Nordischer Lloyd were procured in 1884 for suburban traffic in Rostock. The Grand Ducal Mecklenburgische Friedrich-Franz-Eisenbahn classified the tank locomotives in class XI from 1894 onwards . From 1910 they were referred to as genus T 1. All locomotives were retired by 1922.
history
For suburban traffic on the Rostock-Warnemünde route, Deutsch-Nordischer Lloyd purchased four tank locomotives from Egestorff in 1884 with unusually large drive wheels of 1.53 m. The locomotives were designed to move short wagon trains on the route in a rapid train sequence. They got the track numbers 21 to 24. After the takeover of the Lloydbahn by the Friedrich-Franz-Eisenbahn they got the track numbers 110 to 113. With the introduction of the new numbering scheme from 1895 they got the numbers 501 to 504. In the designation scheme valid from 1910 received the class name T 1. In the period between 1917 and 1922, the locomotives were retired.
Constructive features
The locomotives had an inner frame. The water tank was integrated into the frame. The long boiler consisted of two shots . The steam dome sat on the rear boiler section. The safety valve was located in front of the driver's cab above the standing boiler .
The external two-cylinder wet steam engine was arranged horizontally and worked on the rear coupling axle . The Allan control was external and had crossed eccentric rods.
The wheel sets were cushioned with leaf spring assemblies above the wheel bearings . The throw lever brake acted on the drive wheels on both sides . An existing lever brake was later removed. The sandpit was located under the circulation between the coupling wheels. The rear axle was sanded from the front. The coal supply was housed in two containers in front of the driver's cab.
