Melchior von Diezelsky

Melchior von Diezelsky (* 1708 in Pomerania ; † August 14, 1757 near Landeshut in Silesia ) was a Prussian major .

Life

Origin and family

Melchior was a member of the Polish - Pomeranian noble family von Diezelsky , who were wealthy near Lauenburg and Neustadt .

He married Anna Catharina Wagner in November 1746 in Magdeburg.

Career

Diezelsky joined the Prussian Army and pursued an officer career. He was promoted to Ensign in Infantry Regiment No. 20 on September 24, 1729 , to Second Lieutenant on January 11, 1734 , and Prime Lieutenant in 1738 , and finally to Captain on February 22, 1746 .

In 1757 he was commander of a grenadier battalion , which consists of two companies of the Infanterieregiment no. 7 and the former Saxon infantry regiment S 53 was composed. His battalion was involved in fighting near Striegau on August 3, 1757 . Diezelsky was fatally wounded in fighting in front of the state hat.

Several correspondence between him and the king are known.
